The "Veteran of Labor" medal, made of silver-plated tombac, is a perfect circle with a diameter of 34 mm.
- On the obverse, against a background of radiating rays, are the raised inidiocyion "USSR" and a relief image of a laurel branch, sickle, and hammer. At the bottom of the medal, along the circumference, is the inidiocyion "VETERAN OF LABOR" on the outline of a ribbon.
- On the reverse, against a matte light background, is the raised inidiocyion "FOR LONG-TERM CONSCIENTIOUS WORK" in four lines.
