This is a rare vintage Citizenship Award medal from Louis Pasteur Junior High School 67 (now known as MS 67Q) in Queens, New York. A perfect collectible for alumni, educators, or fans of mid-20th-century school memorabilia, this medal recognizes outstanding student citizenship, leadership, and contributions to school life. Likely dating from the 1950s to 1980s when the school was called a "Junior High School," it's a nostalgic piece from one of Queens' top-rated middle schools, known for preparing students for elite high schools like Bronx Science and Stuyvesant.

Details:

  • Design: Rectangular gold-toned metal (likely gold-plated brass or alloy) with ornate borders. Front features "CITIZENSHIP" at the top, a central blue enamel medallion inscribed "LOUIS PASTEUR JR. H.S. 67 QUEENS" around a relief emblem including a torch of knowledge, scales of justice, open book, and other symbols representing education and ethics.

  • Ribbon: Blue and white moire ribbon (school colors) with a pin-back for easy wear.

  • Maker: Produced by the renowned American silversmith Reed & Barton (Taunton, MA, est. 1824), famous for White House silverware and 1996 Olympic medals. Marked "REED & BARTON" on the reverse with their logo.

  • Condition: Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age (see photos for details). No major damage; enamel is intact. Blank reverse side, no personalization.

  • Size: Medal approx. 30 x 19 mm (excluding ribbon); overall with ribbon about 77 mm tall.

  • Provenance: From a collection of vintage educational awards; authentic Reed & Barton craftsmanship.
