FACSIMILE MEDAL GIVEN TO PATRIOTS VAN WERT, PAULDING & WILLIAMS

A bronze replica of the original 19th-century "Fidelity" medallion, the oldest award of the U.S. armed forces, it was presented to three soldiers from the New York militia: David Williams, John Paulding, and Isaac Van Wert, who helped arrest Major John André for his role in organizing Benedict Arnold's defection to the British Army.
