Antique Old Rare Islamic Brass Kohl Container Surma Dani - Eyeliner Pot

This is a beautiful antique Islamic brass kohl container, known as a Surma Dani or Surmadani. Traditionally used for storing and applying kohl (surma or kajal) — a natural black eyeliner powder popular in South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Islamic cultures for eye makeup and medicinal purposes.
The piece features intricate floral engravings on the domed body, with a decorative filigree border and a flower-motif applicator wand that screws into the neck for secure storage.

Crafted from brass (possibly with bronze elements), it has developed a stunning natural verdigris patina (turquoise-green corrosion) over time, adding to its authentic vintage charm and historical value. This patina has been preserved untouched.

    Dimensions:
  • Length (with applicator inserted) - 4.8 inches;
  • Width (at base) - 2.75 inches.
    Condition: Overall good antique condition with expected age-related wear. There are small gaps where the case parts are connected (see close-up photos for details), as well as minor surface scratches and oxidation spots.

Perfect for collectors of Islamic antiques, vanity accessories, or ethnic decor. It can also be repurposed as a unique jewelry holder or display piece.
