The "Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" medal is round, 32 mm in diameter, and made of brass.
  • The obverse of the medal features an image of the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator (installed in Berlin's Treptower Park) on two crossed laurel branches and the inidiocyion "1945-1965."
  • The reverse of the medal features the inidiocyions "Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" around the circumference, and the Roman numeral "XX" and a star in the center of the medal against a background of radiating rays.
