A genuine Ottoman 5 Kuruş of Sultan Mahmud II, struck at Qustantiniya (Constantinople) in AH 1223, regnal year 26 (AD 1833).
The obverse features Mahmud II's tughra surrounded by a decorative chain wreath, while the reverse carries the denomination, mint inidiocyion and regnal date within the floral wreath.
This example is certified by NGC as VF 35 and is housed in the NGC holder shown in the photos. The coin has a pleasing dark silver-gray appearance with the main design and inidiocyions clearly visible on both sides.
