Ultra-Rare Certified Russian Silver Wire Kopek Mint Error – Flipover Double Strike!
This is an outstanding and extremely scarce silver kopek from the reign of Tsar Mikhail Feodorovich (1613–1645), the first Romanov ruler – classic "wire money" struck by hand. This remarkable example is NGC certified as a dramatic Mint Error: Flipover Double Strike in XF 40 condition (cert #8716671-002) – one of the highest grades for such early 17th-century errors!
The blank flan flipped over between hammer strikes, creating a bold, overlapping double impression where the obverse (tsar on horseback with spear) and reverse (circular Cyrillic legend) appear inverted and duplicated across both sides. The error is exceptionally clear and visually striking – a standout piece for specialists in Russian numismatics, early Romanov wire coins, or dramatic mint errors!
