A genuine Byzantine Empire Anonymous Follis, dating to approximately AD 975-1035 and attributed to Class A2-A3.
The coin features the facing bust of Christ on the obverse with the traditional Byzantine Christian imagery and inidiocyion on the reverse. This is one of the most recognizable types of Byzantine anonymous bronze coinage and a great example of the religious imagery found on coins of the period.
